Next PBS membership meetings

April 6, 2008 - PBS meeting at Hammerhead Jack's, 6900 E. Cave Creek Rd., Cave Creek, featuring Soulcatcher. Music starts at 2:00 pm. Free admission -- all-ages.

May 9, 2008 - PBS meeting at the Rhythm Room, featuring Cold Shott & the Hurricane Horns with special guests. Meeting starts at 8:30 pm. Admission for PBS members - $5.

 

Around town

HoneyBoy Dupree and the Smokehouse Players, with guest sax man Rich Arnold, are playing the dinner show at Pappadeaux's Seafood Restaurant on Friday, April 4th at 6:00 pm.

The Fremonts are at the Rhythm Room on Friday, April 4th. The following night, Saturday, April 5th, the Repeat Offenders are hosting an early evening show at the Rhythm Room, with doors opening at 5:30 pm, followed later in the evening by Sistah Blue. Wrapping up the weekend is a Sunday, April 6th appearance by Mikel Lander and the Meredith Moore Band.

Jimmy Peyton's Midnite Blues will be doing their usual Friday night gig at 26th Street Blues on April 4th.

Bad News Blues Band is at Char's Has the Blues on Saturday, April 5th.

J. Powers Band is performing at Hooper's (51st Ave. & Northern) on Friday, April 4th, and at Stinger's, also in Glendale, on Saturday, April 5th. Both shows start at 9:00 pm.

Hans Olson continues to hold down the regular Thursday night show at Pranksters Too, Hayden & Thomas in Scottsdale, from 8:00 pm until midnight.

Derrick & the Redemptors are now hosting a weekly blues jam at Jersey's Bar & Grill (Ray & Kyrene in Chandler) Saturday afternoons from 1:00 until 5:00 pm.

Seven Tucson bands are getting together for a benefit for Candye Kane, who has been diagnosed with cancer, this Sunday, April 6th from 5:00 until 10:00 pm at the Boondocks. Appearing (in the following order) will be the Tall Paul Band, Lisa Otey & Diane Van Duerzen, The Last Call Girls, The Carnivaleros, Bad News Blues Band, Grams & Krieger with Ralph Gilmore and Ed DeLucia, and the Bryan Dean Trio. There will also be benefits later in the month in the Phoenix area, including a show at the Rhythm Room on April 14th.
