Blues Blast 2008 details

Blues Blast is almost here! Our big festival is scheduled for this Saturday, February 23rd from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm, at the Mesa Amphitheatre.

Appearing will be Walter Trout & the Radicals, Deanna Bogart, Harper, Eden Brent, Chuck Hall, Delta Highway, Big Daddy D & the Dynamites, and Soulcatcher.

Blues Blast 2008 tickets are still on sale; the advance price is $20.00 for adults and $18.00 for PBS members and group tickets (6 or more - purchased at the Mesa Amphitheater Box Office). Tickets are available at the Mesa Amphitheatre box office (480-644-2560) and from all Ticketmaster outlets (480-784-4444). Complete details on Blues Blast are available at www.bluesblast.info.

In addition to Blues Blast, there will be plenty of other events happening around town that weekend:

Friday, February 22nd - Blues Blast pre-party --- Blue Witch Records showcase featuring Big Pete Pearson, Dave Riley & Bob Corritore, and Tomcat Courtney, at the Rhythm Room.

Friday, February 22nd - All-ages show at Alice CoopersTown with Delta Highway and The Mikel Lander Band with Meredith Moore. Doors open at 6:00 pm with the show starting at 7:00 pm. Admission charge is only $6.

Saturday, February 23rd - Blues Blast afterparty --- Johnny Rawls, and special guests, at the Rhythm Room.

Sunday, February 24th - Delta Highway at Hammerhead Jack's, 6900 E Cave Creek Road, Cave Creek, from 2:00 until 6:00 pm.

 

Around town

Blue Shadows featuring Matt Roe are playing at Lucille's at Tempe Marketplace on Saturday, February 23rd from 6:00 until 10:00 pm.

Jimmy Peyton's Midnite Blues will be doing their usual Friday night gig at 26th Street Blues on February 22nd.

Gypsy's Juke Rockers head north this weekend for two shows at Hooligan's Pub, Whiskey Row in Prescott, on Friday & Saturday, February 22nd & 23rd.Jim Glass Band plays at Mickey's Brass Rail, 38th St. & Thomas, on Friday & Saturday, February 22nd & 23rd. Showtime each night is 9:00 pm.
