Blues Blast 2008 details


Delta Highway

The next Blues Blast is scheduled for Saturday, February 23rd from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm, at the Mesa Amphitheatre.

Appearing will be Walter Trout & the Radicals, Deanna Bogart, Harper, Eden Brent, Chuck Hall, Delta Highway, Big Daddy D & the Dynamites, and Soulcatcher.

Blues Blast 2008 tickets are now on sale! The advance ticket price is $20.00 for adults and $18.00 for PBS members and group tickets (6 or more - purchased at the Mesa Amphitheater Box Office). Tickets are available at the Mesa Amphitheatre box office (602-644-2560) and from all Ticketmaster outlets (480-784-4444). Complete details on Blues Blast are available at www.bluesblast.info. Around town

The ever popular Little Charlie and the Nightcats appear at the Rhythm Room on Friday, February 1st. The Rhythm Room is also celebrating the Super Bowl (who's not??!!) on Saturday, February 2nd with a big blues pre-party featuring Long John Hunter, Dave Riley & Bob Corritore, and Big Pete Pearson.

Cold Shott & the Hurricane Horns have a nice gig on Sunday, as the boys are performing at the NFL Experience exhibit for the Super Bowl on February 3rd from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. The only catch is that you need to have a ticket to the game to see this particular show.

Hans Olson is doing Sunday brunch at Sugar Daddy's on Sunday, February 3rd from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Hans continues to hold down the regular Thursday night show at Pranksters Too, Hayden & Thomas in Scottsdale, from 8:00 pm until midnight.

Jimmy Peyton's Midnite Blues will be doing their usual Friday night gig at 26th Street Blues on February 1st.

Gypsy's Juke Rockers are at Dillon's Restaurant, 8706 W. Thunderbird Rd., Peoria, from 6:00 until 10:00 pm on Friday, February 1st and Saturday, February 2nd.

Honeyboy Dupree & the Smokehouse Players are playing the dinner show at Pappadeaux's Seafood Restaurant on Friday, February 1st, as well as hosting the Fat Tuesday celebration there on Tuesday, February 5th at 5:00 pm.

Blind Ronnie's House of Blues is hosting a weekly Thursday night jam, 7:30 - 11:00 pm, at TGI Friday's, 7435 E. Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd, Scottsdale.

The Smoking Section Band have a pair of Tucson gigs this weekend, playing at the Stadium Grille on Friday, February 1st and at the Javelina Cantina in the DoubleTree Hotel on Saturday, February 2nd. Check the band website for more info and directions to the shows.
