The next Blues Blast is scheduled for Saturday, February 23rd from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm, at the Mesa Amphitheatre. Appearing will be Walter Trout & the Radicals, Deanna Bogart, Harper, Eden Brent, Chuck Hall, Delta Highway, Big Daddy D & the Dynamites, and Soulcatcher. Blues Blast 2008 tickets are now on sale! The advance ticket price is $20.00 for adults and $18.00 for PBS members and group tickets (6 or more - purchased at the Mesa Amphitheater Box Office). Tickets are available at the Mesa Amphitheatre box office (602-644-2560) and from all Ticketmaster outlets (480-784-4444). Complete details on Blues Blast are available at www.bluesblast.info. Southern California blues singer Janiva Magness is appearing at the Rhythm Room on Friday, January 11th, followed the next night, Saturday, January 12th, by Sistah Blue. The annual benefit for Paz de Cristo at the Rhythm Room is scheduled for Sunday, January 13th, with doors opening at 7:00 pm. Admission is $10. Performing will be the Blues Dinosaurs, Mike Moses Band, Sla-Day, and Ivan Harshman. Bluzone, with new guitarist Jeff England, is appearing at the El Dorado Bar & Grill on Saturday, January 12th. KC Blues Band is at Iguana Mac's, 1371 N. Alma School Rd., Chandler from 9:00 to 11:00 pm on Friday, January 11th. Hans Olson has returned to his weekly Sunday brunch gig at Sugar Daddy's from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Hans continues to hold down the regular Thursday night show at Pranksters Too, Hayden & Thomas in Scottsdale, from 8:00 pm until midnight. Jimmy Peyton's Midnite Blues will be doing their usual Friday night gig at 26th Street Blues on January 11th. Gypsy's Juke Rockers are at Dillon's Restaurant, 8706 W. Thunderbird Rd., Peoria, from 6:00 until 10:00 pm on Friday, January 11th. Loose Cannons Blues Band are doing the dinner show at Pappadeaux's Seafood Restaurant on Saturday, January 12th. Cold Shott and the Hurricane Horns and Gypsy's Juke Rockers are among the bands performing along the course at the PF Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon on Sunday, January 13th. Check the website for complete schedule and locations of bands. Blind Ronnie's House of Blues is again hosting a weekly Thursday night jam, 7:30 - 11:00 pm, at TGI Friday's, 7435 E. Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd, Scottsdale.
We're helping our Arizona Blues Showdown winner, Big Daddy D & the Dynamites, head to Memphis for the International Blues Challenge with a big benefit at Alice CoopersTown on Sunday, January 20th. The show runs from noon until 6:00 pm. The schedule for the event is: Noon Big Daddy D & the Dynamites Another benefit will be held on Friday, January 18th at the Birdcage in Prescott. -----------------------------------------------
