BLUES BLAST 2007 is scheduled for February 25, 2007 at the Mesa Amphitheatre.

Sista Monica will headline this year's Blues Blast, the 16th annual event. Also appearing will be Albert Cummings, Zac Harmon, Big Nick & the Gila Monsters, Tommy Dukes and the Soul Kings, and Mikel Lander.

Tickets are now on sale. PBS members were mailed an order form for tickets at the special PBS members price.

NEWS FLASH! Mikel Lander will be appearing on Channel 3's morning program this Saturday to promote Blues Blast. Estimated air time is between 9:45 and 10:00 am.

 

Around Town

Jimmy Peyton's Midnite Blues is doing its normal Friday night gig at 26th Street Blues on February 9th.

Blind Dog Band is at Jay's Cocktails on Saturday, February 10th from 9:00 pm until 1:00 am.

Big Pete Pearson plays the Rhythm Room on Friday, February 9th, followed the next night by George Bowman's R&B Revue on Saturday, February 10th.

The Flamekeepers will host a remembrance for Chico Chism at the Rhythm Room on Tuesday, February 13th.

Hans Olson continues to hold down regular weekly gigs at Pranksters Too, SW corner of Hayden & Thomas in Scottsdale, from 8:00 pm until midnight on Thursday nights, and at Sugar Daddy's, Scottsdale Rd. just north of Thomas, on Sunday mornings from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm (except for 2/21 & 2/25).

One Class Act is at Sportsman Chalet in Strawberry on Saturday, February 10th starting at 8:00 pm.

Cold Shott & the Hurricane Horns play at the Willo Historic District Home Tour on Sunday, February 11th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The J. Powers Band is at Donna Jean's Libations, Glendale, on Friday, February 9th.

NightShift, featuring guitarist Tommy Grills and vocalist The Chief, is doing two nights at the Dubliner, 40th St. & Thunderbird, on Friday & Saturday, February 9th & 10th.
