The 17th annual Arizona Blues Showdown is scheduled for Sunday, November 11th at the Rhythm Room (preliminary rounds) and Sunday, November 18th at Alice Cooperstown (final round). Rules and Application form are now available; application deadline is October 29th!

Around Town

Join Cold Shott and the Hurricane Horns at Nello's Annual Octoberfest Celebration this Sunday, October 28th from 3:00 - 7:00 pm. Nello's Pizza is located at 2950 S Alma School Rd., Mesa.

The ever popular Guitar Shorty hits town this Friday, October 26th for a show at the Rhythm Room. Soul Power is at the Rhythm Room on Saturday, October 27th.

Gypsy's Juke Rockers are doing two nights at the Alamo Saloon in Fountain Hills on Friday & Saturday, October 26th & 27th from 9:00 pm until 1:00 am.

Jimmy Peyton's Midnite Blues will be hosting the big Halloween Party at 26th Street Blues on Friday, October 26th. Lots of prizes, and anyone in costume gets in free!

Loose Cannons Blues Band has a pair of gigs on Sunday, October 28th. The annual benefit show for Every Nation's Child/UNICEF happens from 1:00pm to 10:30pm at 26th Street Blues, 2547 E. Indian School Road in Phoenix, featuring the best local female blues and jazz artists and their friends. The band will also be at American Veterans Post No. 5, 3805 N. 16th
Street, Phoenix for a Halloween Party from 8:00 until 11:00 pm.

JJ Grey & Mofro appear in concert at the Rhythm Room on Wednesday, October 31st, with opening act Mikel Lander. Tickets are $22, available at the bar or from all Ticketmaster outlets (480-784-4444).
