Big Nick & the Gila Monsters, who consistently put the best shows in town, will be at Char's Has the Blues on Friday, August 10th at 9:30 pm. One Class Act is doing a pair of shows at the Alamo Saloon in Fountain Hills on Friday & Saturday, August 10th & 11th. Showtime both nights is 9:00 pm. Jimmy Peyton's Midnite Blues is doing the regular Friday night gig at 26th Street Blues on August 10th. Hans Olson appears every Thursday night at Pranksters Too (SW corner of Thomas Rd. & Scottsdale Rd.), from 8:00 pm until midnight. Great music, great food, no cover! Cold Shott & the Hurricane Horns are appearing twice this weekend. They will be at the Big Fish Pub in Tempe on Friday, August 10th from 9:00 pm until 1:00 am, and at Arrowhead Town Centre Mall in Glendale from 7:00 until 9:00 pm on Saturday, August 11th. Blind Dog Blues Band will be playing Chicago blues on the west side at Tailgaters Sports Bar, Glendale, on Sunday, August 12th from 6:00 until 10:00 pm. Big Pete Pearson Blues Band provides the music at the Rhythm Room on Friday, August 10th. Appearing there the next night is Patté Williams. The Smoking Section has two shows in their Tucson home this weekend, appearing at Ventana Canyon Resort on Friday, August 10th and at Montgomery's Grill & Saloon on Saturday, August 11th.
An upcoming concert of note is
super-guitarist Chris Duarte, coming to the
Rhythm Room on
Tuesday, August 14th. Advance tickets are $12, available at the bar or
from all Ticketmaster outlets (480-784-4444). Admission on the day of
the show is $15.
