PBS Membership Meeting


Zac Harmon

The August meeting is scheduled for Saturday, August 4th, 8:30 pm, at the Rhythm Room. Appearing after the meeting will be Zac Harmon, who appeared at last February's Blues Blast 2007.

PBS members can stay for the show for a discounted cover charge of only $5.

Around Town

Hans Olson has a new regular gig on Wednesday nights at 26th Street Blues, in addition to his ongoing Thursday night engagement at Pranksters Too (SW corner of Thomas Rd. & Scottsdale Rd.). Both weekly shows run from 8:00 pm until midnight. Hans also has a new address for his website --- www.hansolson.net.

Cold Shott and the Hurricane Horns will be performing at the City of Payson's Summer Concert Series on Saturday, July 14th at 7:00 pm.

Honeyboy Dupree & the Smokehouse Players is doing the 6:00 pm dinner show at Pappadeaux's Seafood Restaurant on Friday, July 13th.

One Class Act is seeking to beat the heat by heading north for a full weekend of gigs, starting Friday, July 13th at Sportsman Chalet in Strawberry from 8:00 pm until midnight and followed by a a pair of afternoon stints, Saturday, July 14th and Sunday, July 15th, at the Spirit Room in Jerome.

Big Daddy D & The Dynamites are doing two nights, Friday & Saturday, July 13th & 14th, at Hooligan's in Prescott. Show time both nights is 8:30 pm.

Jimmy Peyton's Midnite Blues is doing their regular Friday night gig at 26th Street Blues on July 13th.

George Bowman hosts a special show at the Rhythm Room on Friday, July 13th, with guests Lady J and Lucius Parr.

Sistah Blue is at the Rhythm Room on Saturday, July 14th.

Sage Gentle Wing is performing at the Goathead Saloon, Mesa, every Monday night. He also has special gigs at Coffee Plantation, Biltmore Fashion Park, on Friday, July 13th from 7:30 to 10:30 pm and at Hazelwood's, E. Indian School Rd. just east of 36th St., for a CD Release Party on Saturday, July 14th from 10:00 pm until 1:00 am.

The Smoking Section has two shows in their Tucson home this weekend, appearing at the French Quarter on Friday, July 13th and at Casino of the Sun on Saturday, July 14th.

 

In concert

Chicago blues artist Ronnie Baker Brooks will be at the Rhythm Room on Wednesday, July 18th. Admission to the show is $12.
