Cat Black & the Prowlers
is a new Flagstaff band featuring the sultry vocals of Cat Black. Musicians wanted Needed --- "Jazz" styled player for
blues styled band. We are looking to record, and we want to talk
with groove drummers, and pocket players with sensitivity and style in
the area, with both ability and desire to record. Jazz player that won’t
mind playing a more visceral art form for blues project. It's basically
a blues and jazz band, with strong vox, in a B3/Guitar driven
sound. We're looking for a "Slick" player. The recording is the main focus at this
stage of the game. We have gigs to offer you as well if you're interested
in that. The only purpose to the gigs is to help establish a little
chemistry before recording begins, and to add the last few dollars to
the pot. You can take both or one or the other --- it's your call, if
you're the right person. Groove and feel are what we're after for
this disk. Email me at
Gboogie2@hotmail.com. *** To be listed in this
section, please
send your requests to
info@phoenixblues.org for listing in the next issue. Submissions will appear in two issues, after
which they should be re-submitted if still applicable.
------------------------------------------ Message from the
President Dear PBS members and friends
of Randy Rogers, It's with great sadness that
I have the responsibility of letting you know that the remains found in
the Grand Canyon last week by a National Park Service Backcountry Ranger
are indeed those of our member and friend, Randy Rogers.
Randy's remains were found on
a routine patrol in the Bright Angel Trail drainage and a positive
identification was verified and released by the National Park Service.
Tommy Castro thanked us today
via e-mail for letting the band know that Randy had been found. In his
words, "It must be tough but it's better to have some closure." And
indeed we do have closure although it's not the outcome that all of us
were hoping for. Our friend
died doing what he loved to do, hiking the Grand Canyon on the way to
Telluride to see his favorite music, the blues. It's my sincere hope
that Stevie Ray, Gate, Muddy and all the rest are keeping him
entertained while he holds that table for all of us "at that juke joint
in the sky!" Go with God, my
friend, and "Good Blues to You!" ---
