PBS Membership Meeting

The March meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 16th, beginning at 7:30 pm, at the Rhythm Room. Right after the meeting will be a benefit for Chico Chism, so come on out and show your support for one of our true blues legends!

 

Big show in town!

Koko Taylor

Koko Taylor, the Queen of the Blues, will be at the Rhythm Room on Friday, March 4th. This will be a "patio smoking only" show.

PBS members and Blues News Online subscribers can get a $5 discount from the day of show price of $45 by printing this coupon and presenting it at the door.

 

 

Around Town

Cold Shott & The Hurricane Horns are at Nello's Pizza, 2950 S. Alma School Rd., Mesa, beginning at 7:00 pm. It's owner Brian's 50th birthday!

Big Nick & The Gila Monsters are playing at a benefit concert for the City of Hope charity at the Scottsdale Hilton on Saturday, March 5th, beginning at 6:00 pm.

Common Ground Blues is at Gold Canyon Yacht Club on Saturday, March 5th.

The J. Powers Band are doing two nights at Dillon's Restaurant, 8706 W. Thunderbird Rd., Peoria, on Friday, March 4th and Saturday, March 5th. Showtime each night is 6:00 pm.

Sistah Blue is playing at the Rhythm Room on Saturday, March 5th.

Loose Cannons Blues Band is appearing at the Wigwam Resort, located on the west side of Phoenix, every Friday and Saturday until April from 8:00 until midnight, playing an entertaining mix of blues and jazz.

Tommy "Bluzman" Grills is appearing every Thursday at Pranksters 2, SW corner of Hayden & Thomas, Scottsdale, and every Saturday at the Pranksters 1, Broadway Rd. just east of Rural, Tempe. Shows at both locations start at 8:30 pm.

Musicians, comedians, magicians, etc. are needed to perform at the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event April 1st - 2nd, 2005 at Chandler’s Tumbleweed Park. In memoriam

Phoenix area jazz promoter Al Singer passed away this morning at the Mayo Clinic after a battle with leukemia. Mr. Singer presented regular jazz shows at the Rhythm Room and other venues in the Valley. He will be missed by all in the local music community.
