Blues Blast 2005, the blues event of the year in Arizona, is just a few days away!!! Tickets: Specially priced tickets for PBS members and friends can be purchased directly from the Phoenix Blues Society for $15 each. You can still pick them up from PBS Board members at any of the Blues Week activities. Buy as many as you like --- they make great gifts for family & friends! A VIP ticket, which includes a Blues Blast ticket, a Blues Blast t-shirt and other goodies, and admission to three Blues Week events, is available for $50. What else can you do to help?:
Acoustic blues guitarist Mikel Lander will be appearing in a special pre-Blues Blast in-store appearance at Virgin Megastore, Arizona Mills Mall in Tempe, on Friday, February 25th from 6:00 until 7:00 pm. Join your PBS friends for this special event, and be sure to check out the fine blues selection at Virgin Megastore. Remember --- you can use your PBS membership card for a discount on your blues purchases!
Big Nick & The Gila Monsters will be one of the featured bands at the Target Day of Music at Tempe Town Lake on Saturday, February 26th, from noon until 5:00 pm. Cold Shott & The Hurricane Horns are at The Longshot (74th St. & McDowell) on Friday, February 25th. The band will also be part of the AZ Arts Chorale Gala Fundraiser on Saturday, February 26th from 5:30 until 11:30 pm. This event is being held at Monterra at WestWorld, 16601 N. Pima Rd., Scottsdale. Loose Cannons Blues Band is appearing at the Wigwam Resort, located on the west side of Phoenix, every Friday and Saturday until April from 8:00 until midnight, playing an entertaining mix of blues and jazz. is appearing every Thursday at Pranksters 2, SW corner of Hayden &
Thomas, Scottsdale, and every Saturday at the Pranksters 1, Broadway Rd.
just east of Rural, Tempe. Shows at both locations start at 8:30 pm.
