President To the Phoenix Blues Community
--- This is the time of year when we all have
the opportunity to take a step back, reflect and cherish some of the good
things that have happened to all of us this year. It’s been a year of
growth for our Blues Society and I’m happy with the direction we’re heading
in. 2006 promises to be a year of additional growth & change and as a board
we’re ready to tackle our challenges head on. Please mark Sunday, January 15th
on your calendar as a must attend event. We’re holding a benefit at the
Rhythm Room to
send our IBC contestants,
Tom Walbank and the
Ambassadors and
Danny Rhodes, to Memphis. This will be a post-holiday potluck event and
will run from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Parents are encouraged to bring their
children with them to this event as well as a side dish for the afternoon. The Society will be providing hot sandwiches for the event and our board
looks forward to having a chance to meet and talk with everyone in the
society. It would be helpful if you could RSVP to
info@phoenixblues.org so that we can get a rough count of how many
people to plan for brunch. Last but not least, I’m hopeful that
everyone will take a minute and say a prayer for our missing member, Randy
Rogers. Randy was a good friend, a fixture at Blues Blast and someone you
could always count on to pitch in and help. He has been sorely missed. Merry Christmas to all and have a great
holiday season! --- Kyle Phoenix area blues clubs
