The July meeting will be held on Saturday, July 23rd at Big Al's, 717 S. Central Ave. in Phoenix, beginning at 7:00 pm. Appearing as part of the meeting will be Jimmy Peyton's Midnite Blues and Scotty Spenner. Parking is plentiful and security will be provided. Members can see two great acts for only $2 (nonmembers $8), so this is a great opportunity to become a member or renew your membership. Non-members can join PBS at the door and see the show for $2, plus all new members will receive a prize.
New format for membership meetings: We are seeking acts, clubs, and other potential venues to host upcoming shows. We are also seeking your ideas, suggestions, and feedback to create fun, exciting events that will benefit the entire blues community. To volunteer or for more information, please contact Gil Andrews, Event & Membership Coordinator, at 602-670-5541 or by e-mail, and as always, thanks for keeping the blues alive.

--- Message from Bill Mitchell --- Dear PBS members and friends, I've spent the last 20 years of my life dedicating much of my spare time to running blues societies, the first five in North Carolina and the last 15 years as the president of our Phoenix Blues Society. I've enjoyed every single minute of it and have had more than my share of "life experiences" in the blues world. It's now time to make some changes. Other personal demands and interests limit the amount of time I have to give to blues activities. Kyle Deibler has been elected as the new president of the Phoenix Blues Society; I will remain active with the society, assuming more of an advisory role as well as continuing to publish Blues News Online and Blues Bytes. I hope that each of you gives Kyle and the rest of the PBS Board the same level of support and cooperation you've shown me for the past 15 years. With Kyle's energy, enthusiasm and contacts on the national blues scene, we can all take the Phoenix Blues Society to the next level. Please don't hesitate to contact Kyle via e-mail or the Bluesline at 602-252-0599 with any suggestions or just to give him a note of congratulations and support. Thanks for helping us keep the Blues alive!
