The December membership meeting will be held at the Rhythm Room on Wednesday, December 15th, beginning at 7:00 pm. It will be our annual Holiday Party and Potluck. Bring a dish to share with your best blues friends! Right after the party, starting at 8:00 pm, will be a benefit for Sistah Blue to help raise travel money for their trip to Memphis for the International Blues Challenge in February. In addition to the Sistahs, appearing at the benefit will be some of Arizona's best blues talent, including Hans Olson, Cold Shott & The Hurricane Horns, The Blues Wizards, Jim Glass Band, Dennis Rowland, Ronnie Whitehead, Mikel Lander, One Class Act, and more. Admission will be $5, with all proceeds going to Sistah Blue. Come on out and show your support for the Sistahs! It will also be a good night to complete your holiday shopping by buying PBS souvenirs, Blues Blast tickets, etc. at the Holiday Party.
Midnite Blues will be playing at Craiger's Restaurant & Lounge on Friday, December 3rd. Local blues/soul legend George Bowman will be celebrating his birthday on Saturday, December 4th with a gig at the Rhythm Room. Poppy and the Usual Suspects are at Pat Murphy's on Friday, December 3rd and Saturday, December 4th. The band will then be having a CD release party at Dave's Place, 2710 W. Bell Rd, on Saturday, December 11th. The Hank Tomlin Band plays at Sundance's in Prescott on Friday, December 3rd and Saturday, December 4th. Texas blues singer Barbara Lynn makes a very rare Phoenix appearance at the Rhythm Room on Saturday, December 10th, backed by the C.C. Jerome Band.
It's been requested that we include a "Musicians Wanted" section in Blues News Online so that bands looking for players or players looking for a band can submit a notice to be published. Sunday, February 27th - Blues Blast 2005 (An annual PBS event for 13 consecutive years and the first outdoor blues festival of the calendar year. View more information about Blues Blast and the roster of internationally-known blues musicians who have appeared there through the Phoenix Blues Society website). Appearing at Blues Blast 2005 will be Bettye LaVette, Little Charlie and the Nightcats, Michael Burks, Hans Olson, and Sistah Blue. Ticket information will be available soon.

Sun Station is hosting their annual Cascabel Christmas Fair in Benson on Saturday, December 4th and Sunday, December 5th. The Fair includes an all-star music marathon, featuring Blind Dog Cooley from Texas, Jammin' Jeff, and Rocky & Danny. Music is free.
