PBS Membership
Meeting

The November membership meeting will be held in the courtyard at Stinkweeds, 12 W. Camelback in Phoenix, on Sunday, November 21st, from noon until 2:00 pm. Appearing will be Arizona Blues Showdown finalist Mikel Lander, who turned out to be a real crowd favorite both weeks of the contest. There will be pastries, coffee, juices, etc. available at the meeting. Kimber, owner of  Stinkweeds, is planning to make these Sunday afternoon acoustic sessions a regular feature of this new music store, and is also building up a nice sized blues selection. We hope to see you there as we help to christen a new blues venue.

Arizona Blues
Showdown results

Congratulations to Sistah Blue, winner of the 14th annual Arizona Blues Showdown last Sunday. This is the second time the Sistahs have won the Showdown, and will now represent Arizona in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis February 3-5, 2005.

Placing second was Tommy Dukes Blues Band, of Winslow, followed by Frank Ace Band, of Phoenix.

This year's Showdown lineup was the strongest in the event's 14 year history. Each act that participated should be proud of their performance; it truly was an incredible two weeks of blues. Thanks to all of the acts, judges, volunteers and Rhythm Room staff for their support!
